Vegetarian Quotes (MEAT-FREE ENGLAND BY 2060)

Vegetarian Quotes (MEAT-FREE ENGLAND BY 2060)

Hello there.
This video will be about famous humans who chose a meat-free lifestyle, some famous quotes from these people and what the quotes mean to me.

Firstly we will start with Leonardo da vinci, who said:

“We live by the death of others: we are burial places!.

Another one:

the time will come when men will look on the murder of animals as they now look on the murder of men. “~Leonardo da Vinci
Links to a quotes from Henry David Thoreau, Walden, 1854
I have no doubt that it is a part of the destiny of the human race, in its gradual improvement, to leave off eating animals, as surely as the savage tribes have left off eating each other…. ~

- Paul and Linda McCartney”

“If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be a vegetarian

.- Mentally also of meat eaters separate meat that they buy and the animals that flesh comes from. Getting people to acknowledge what they are doing, the consenting to the murder of another animal, will help to bring them round to a meat-free lifestyle. This links aptly to a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson
You have just dined, and however scrupulously the slaughterhouse is concealed in the graceful distance of miles, there is complicity. ~

“Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet. “– Albert Einstein
Meat production at its current growth rate is unsustainable, soon we will have to decide whether we feed animals or we feed the humans. Meat takes so much energy to produce, so much land and water. Illogical way of feeding a human population.
Firstly cut down the rainforests to grow soya beans. Then harvest the soya beans and fly them across the world to Europe to feed to animals, in the process of which 90% of the energy yield of the crop will be wasted. Then you have to murder the animal, package it and transport it to the supermarket where most people buy their meat from. Therefore meat is a very costly food, produces more C02 the worlds entire transport systems. Forget about buying an electric car or cycling to work, cut meat out of your diet and you will be reducing your carbon footprint by up to 1.5 tonnes every year. You can make a massive difference by simply choosing not to eat meat, or at least reducing the amount of meat you eat.

Ghandi:

“One can measure the greatness and the moral progress of a nation by looking at how it treats its animals.”
Respect for all animals, respect for life. More caring people, stop being so selfish and think about other things than magazines and television programs. There is so much more to life than working a 9-5 jobs to buy things you dont need.
Tolstoy
as long as there are slaughterhouses, there will be battlefields
Ive found choosing to restrict what I consume, and become a more caring consumer, and made me think about life, what is important and how others live their lives.
Abstaining from animal products is a great base for loving other humans. Links nicely to a quote I will finish with, by George Bernard shaw, who said:
While we ourselves are the living graves of murdered beasts, how can we expect any ideal conditions on this earth?
So which quotes have inspired you??
