		<description>If you need to be on a low carb diet, eliminate rice, potatoes, sugars, and high carb vegetables and fruit.
The easiest way to know what you can eat is to go to a listing of low glycemic vegetables (my blog has one: http://prettysmartrawfoodideas.wordpress.com/low-glycemic/ )
For protein, add  tofu, raw nuts and seeds, and sprouts.

		<description>Eggs are dead chickens, and 14 year old black scholar I do not believe she wants your plagiarized bias studies. Low carbohydrate diets are really dangerous. Carbohydrates are one thing you brain fuels itself with, to take it away can lead to a lot of problems. Just thought I&#39;d bring that up. Try soy products like meso soup, tofu jerky, soy beans, they are all low in carbohydrates. Sorry but I cannot see myself not eating carbs, I&#39;m vegetarians too. 		<description>Eggs will be important.  Try having them in different ways.  Sliced on a sandwich with lots of veggies, added to a salad, etc.  You can bake them in veggie casseroles as well.  To keep it lower fat, use more whites than yolks, or use Egg Beaters.

There are several soy-based veggie burgers that are low in carbs and fat but high in protein.  Bocca is one brand.  Tofu is also a good source of protein.

If it&#39;s just moderately low carb, include some beans and lentils.  Soybeans (edamame) are lower in carbs than most other beans and also very high in protein.

Low fat cheese, unsweetened yogurt and cottage cheese will also be a good choice.

		<description>High protein diets are said to cause osteoporosis and Americans are now being advised to avoid beef in order to protect their bones. Once again, it&#39;s important to look at the studies carefully. Research that showed a link with bone loss and protein consumption was done with purified protein powders.16 With meat, a natural protein food, there was no negative calcium balance. New evidence indicates that women who eat lots of meat had fewer hip fractures compared to those who avoided it.

What a shame we have demonized red meat because this is one modern food, enjoyed by almost everybody, that is rich in nutrients. Red meat provides complete protein, including sulphur-containing proteins like cysteine. Beef is a wonderful source of taurine and carnitine, needed for healthy eyes and a healthy heart. Beef also provides another key nutrient for the cardiovascular system—coenzyme Q10.

The body can make sugar from fats and protein. Thats why there are no essential carbohydrates, only fats and proteins.

Let us consider the French. Anyone who has eaten his way across France has observed that the French diet is just loaded with saturated fats in the form of butter, eggs, cheese, cream, liver, meats and rich patés. Yet the French have a lower rate of coronary heart disease than many other country.
Do some research.
Fats from animal and vegetable sources provide a concentrated source of energy in the diet; they also provide the building blocks for cell membranes and a variety of hormones and hormonelike substances. Fats as part of a meal slow down absorption so that we can go longer without feeling hungry. In addition, they act as carriers for important fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K. Dietary fats are needed for the conversion of carotene to vitamin A, for mineral absorption and other processes.a 1994 study of vegetarian California Seventh Day Adventists showed that, while they did have lower rates for some cancers (e.g., breast and lung), they had higher rates for several others (Hodgkin&#39;s disease, malignant melanoma, brain, skin, uterine, prostate, endometrial, cervical and ovarian), some quite significantly. In that study the authors actually admitted that: Meat consumption, however, was not associated with a higher [cancer] risk.In Framingham, Mass., the more saturated fat one ate, the more cholesterol one ate, the more calories one ate, the lower the person&#39;s serum cholesterol ... we found that the people who ate the most cholesterol, ate the most saturated fat, [and] ate the most calories, weighed the least and were the most physically activity
